This could be due to the fact that it's aimed at average consumers - rather than Pro creators who might need to attach more versatile equipments to their machines. However, it lacks the variety of ports introduced in Pro models after the major design refresh. The M2 MacBook Air follows the same design language of the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro models.
